Traralgon Community Christmas Parade, Market and Grottos
Our objective: To deliver a one-day celebration of Christmas for the Gippsland Community.
We have been heavily involved since 2019 in delivering this annual event. The Community Christmas Parade, Market and Grottos is a one-day celebration of Christmas, located in the Traralgon CBD and is delivered for the Gippsland region.
It is run by the community for the community and combines four wonderful, connected activities, delivering an excellent day out for people of all ages, but particularly younger children. The Christmas Parade includes a procession of floats, street theatre, musicians, singers, dancers, and marchers celebrating the joy of Christmas. The Christmas Market includes festive and cultural food outlets, handicraft and Christmas stalls, a choir and children’s activities. The Grottos are emporia for young children to meet Santa and a special guest, most recently the Grinch performed by one of our club members.
An organising committee delivers the event and comprises members from each of the following organisations:

The event is a celebration of life and community and encourages all genders, ages and abilities to become involved. As far as possible accessibility is ensured to allow participation by people of all abilities and ages. Care is taken to ensure a safe environment and facilities are appropriate. It normally attracts around 5000 attendees and is free to all attendees.
