Park Lane Community Garden Water Supply System
The Rotary Club of Traralgon has supported the establishment of the Park Lane Community Garden in Traralgon in conjunction with the Traralgon District Uniting Church. The Club provided a grant of $7,002 for the purchase of a rainwater tank, pump and water filter. This funding was provided from Club funds and co-financed with a Rotary District Grant
The Park Lane Community Garden will provide support for food security, community building, learning opportunities, and sharing. Community and service groups of various age groups will participate in the garden’s programs. Expected outcomes from the garden project will include will include improved community physical, mental, social, and spiritual health and wellbeing.
The garden is currently under construction, with the rainwater system now completed. Pictures of the installation are included below. The rainwater system’s filtration will ensure a high quality supply to minimise risks to users. The Park Lane Community Garden aims to be self-sufficient with respect to water supply, relying on rainwater harvesting and use.
An official opening of the garden is planned for later in 2026.
